Exhibit Highlights

1.    Your Headed to the White House journey begins with Election History
Explore how presidential elections have changed, and how they have remained the same, for over 200 years. Highlights include fun presidential facts and an introduction to how constitutional amendments have influenced the election process.

2.    Next, it is time to Join the Race
Launch your campaigns and discover if you have the “right stuff” to make a run for office.  Highlights include an interactive speech coach and a craft your own campaign message activity.

3.    Then, Earn the Nomination
Enter the floor of a convention featuring all 50 states to uncover the primary election and caucus process for winning a major party nomination. Highlights include a campaign manager interactive where you make the decisions to try to win a primary election, a “campaign worker chart” exploring who’s who on a candidate’s staff, historic footage from Democratic and Republican national conventions, and a “create your own campaign sticker” craft activity.

4.    With the nomination secured, it is a sprint to Election Day in Win the Election
Practice your presidential handshake as you greet the voters and create your own campaign commercials with the Center’s “Ad-o-Matic” interactive.  Learn about voting rights and how the methods we use to vote have changed over time, and cast your vote for America’s best historic president.

5.    End on a celebratory note in Take the Oath
Discover what next steps lay ahead for the newly elected president, enjoy a photo opportunity behind the desk in the Oval Office, and tell us what the first thing you would do for the country as president.

National Constitution Center visitors can add the Center’s highly anticipated Headed to the White House exhibit to their visit for an additional $3.  Members see it free!  Join Now
