Daily Programs at the National Constitution Center
Our staff and volunteers are ready to enhance your visit to the Center with educational programs and activities designed to bring constitutional topics to life. These programs are free with museum admission and do not require advanced registration, but will vary daily, so visitors are encouraged to pick up a copy of our daily program guide upon arrival for that day’s offerings.

Freedom Rising Theater Show

Set the stage for your National Constitution Center experience with this 360-degree live theatrical production that tells the story of the United States Constitution and the American quest for freedom.
Voting Booth Activity
First Floor, Grand Hall Lobby; 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Step inside a real voting booth and cast your vote for your favorite historic president.
Voting Tech Artifact Cart
First Floor, Grand Hall Lobby; 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Explore real, historic voting machines and discover how voting methods have changed through history.
Presidential Powers Show
Second Floor, Story of We the People Exhibit; Jury Box, 10:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m.
Join an interactive presentation exploring the presidency and the Constitution, from Election Day to the day-to-day responsibilities of the job.
Emancipation Proclamation and the 54th Massachusetts Regiment
First Floor, Civil War and Reconstruction Exhibit; 11 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:45 p.m.
Join us for an inside look at why President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, what it meant for over 4 million Americans then held in bondage, and how it led to the creation of the first Black regiments in the Civil War.
Meet the Presidents
First Floor, Grand Hall Lobby;
11–11:30 a.m. and 12:30–1 p.m.
Historical reenactors portraying Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt will mingle with visitors, pose for photo ops, sign autographs, and discuss their lives and presidencies.
Kids Town Hall: Meet the Presidents
Second Floor, Kibry Auditorium; 11:45 a.m.
Join in a special Kids Town Hall with some presidential guests. Visitors will get the chance to ask the presidents about their lives, impact on history, and time as President of the United States.
Presidential Costume Contest
Second Floor, Kirby Auditorium; 12:15 p.m.
Children ages 12 and younger are eligible to participate in the Center’s Presidential Costume Contest. The most original costume, as judged by a panel of presidential reenactors, will be awarded a gift certificate to the National Constitution Center Museum Store. Winners will be selected during the Kids Town Hall program.
Presidential Trivia

Bring your Article II A-game and test your knowledge about the nation’s commanders in chief. What is the most common first name among presidents? Who was the tallest president? Which president holds the record for use of the veto?
Campaign Poster Stations
First Floor, Grand Hall Lobby; 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
I like Ike! Keep it cool with Coolidge! Tippecanoe and Tyler Too! If you were running for president, what would your campaign slogan be? Make a poster and convince folks to vote for YOU!
Trading Stories Craft

Explore the lives of influential African American figures while creating and collecting your own trading cards! Learn about the incredible lives of Hiram R. Revels, Mae Carol Jemison, and more!
Quiet Room and Story Corner

Enjoy a quiet space to relax, color, or read books about American presidents, including John, Paul, George & Ben by Lane Smith, and more.

Constitutional Trivia Game
Step right up, spin the wheel, and see how well you know the Constitution! At this interactive trivia game, players can test their knowledge on topics ranging from Constitutional articles and amendments, Supreme Court cases, famous figures from history, civic holiday connections, and more.
Hands-on History Artifact Carts
Join a National Constitution Center team member and get a hands-on look at artifacts in our teaching collection. 3D-printed replicas of 18th Century objects found on the site of the NCC help visitors explore what life was like in 1787, and by examining historic voting machines visitors will learn about the role “We the People” have played in our electoral process.
Decoding the Documents - Gallery Talks
These informal in-gallery talks highlight the history and significance of objects on display throughout the National Constitution Center exhibits, featuring artifacts including the Emancipation Proclamation in Civil War and Reconstruction, the Declaration of Sentiments in The 19th Amendment: How Women Won the Vote, and the March on Washington Pennant in the First Amendment gallery.
Fun with Flags Challenge
Find your inner vexillologist at this fast-paced activity and explore the stories of the 56 state and territorial flags along the National Constitution Center’s Grand Hall Overlook.
Presidential Portrait Challenge
Stand face-to-face with the wall of presidential portraits and see how well you know these Commanders in Chief! Identify what these historic presidents have in common as well as what sets them apart.
Political Cartoons Workshop
Did you know political cartoons have been a popular form of expression for hundreds of years? In this program, a team member shares the history of the art form, including how the First Amendment has protected cartoonists’ freedom of expression.
Civic Holiday Programs
From Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January to Bill of Rights Day in December, the NCC celebrates civic holidays all year long and visitors to the museum on these days have the opportunity to participate in related programs and events.
