Justice Neil M. Gorsuch to Present the 31st Annual Liberty Medal to the Honorable Anthony M. Kennedy

Today, the National Constitution Center announced that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil M. Gorsuch, Honorary Chair of the National Constitution Center, will bestow the annual Liberty Medal award to the Honorable Anthony M. Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, for his efforts to preserve, protect, and defend liberty by inspiring Americans of all ages to learn about the Constitution through civic education and civil dialogue.

National Constitution Center’s Honorary Chair to present annual award to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy on October 27, 2019, in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA (October 16, 2019) – Today, the National Constitution Center announced that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil M. Gorsuch, Honorary Chair of the National Constitution Center, will bestow the annual Liberty Medal award to the Honorable Anthony M. Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, for his efforts to preserve, protect, and defend liberty by inspiring Americans of all ages to learn about the Constitution through civic education and civil dialogue. The National Constitution Center will award Justice Kennedy the Liberty Medal on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at 5 p.m. in a public ceremony on the Grand Hall Overlook inside the National Constitution Center across from historic Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

“I am thrilled to present the National Constitution Center’s 2019 Liberty Medal to my mentor and colleague, Justice Anthony Kennedy, said Justice Neil Gorsuch. “Since I met him as a law clerk 25 years ago, I have been inspired by his passion for and love of the Constitution and marvel at his unfailing integrity and immense wisdom. I look forward to honoring Justice Kennedy for his commitment to civic education and being a constant, shining example of civility.”

This is the first year Justice Gorsuch will take part in the National Constitution Center’s annual Liberty Medal Ceremony. He became Honorary Chair of the National Constitution Center in May 2019.
