On September 17, 2025, the Honorable Amy Coney Barrett, associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, joined Jeffrey Rosen for an America’s Town Hall program in celebration of Constitution Day 2025 and the release of her new book, Listening to the Law: Reflections on the Court and the Constitution. Justice Barrett reflects on her journey to the Court and offers a glimpse into her role (and daily life) as a justice, including her deliberative process and approach to constitutional interpretation.

Amy Coney Barrett is an associate justice of the United States Supreme Court. In 2002, Justice Barrett joined the faculty at Notre Dame Law School, becoming a professor in 2010. While serving as a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, she continued to teach civil procedure, constitutional law, and statutory interpretation. Her new book is Listening to the Law: Reflections on the Court and the Constitution (2025).
Jeffrey Rosen is the president and CEO of the National Constitution Center, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization devoted to educating the public about the U.S. Constitution. He is also professor of law at the George Washington University Law School and a contributing editor of The Atlantic. His newest book, Pursuit of Liberty: How Hamilton vs. Jefferson Ignited the Lasting Battle over Power in America, is out in October 2025.
