Colorado Mountain College’s Center for Civics Education & Engagement, in partnership with the National Constitution Center and Aspen Institute’s Aspen Society, presents: Behind the Constitution: The Founders’ Greatest Hits, an engaging event featuring acclaimed biographer Walter Isaacson, legal scholar and political philosopher Robert P. George, and National Constitution Center Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Vince Stango. Through storytelling, conversation, and a little humor, this program takes guests behind the scenes of the Constitutional Convention to explore the personalities, ideas, and debates that shaped our nation. Join us for a lively civic experience that brings history, democracy, and the Constitution to life.

Robert P. George is the McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. He has served as chair of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, and before that on the President’s Council on Bioethics and as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights.
Walter Isaacson is the bestselling author of biographies of Elon Musk, Jennifer Doudna, Leonardo da Vinci, Steve Jobs, Benjamin Franklin, and Albert Einstein. He is a professor of history at Tulane and was CEO of the Aspen Institute, chair of CNN, and editor of Time. He was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2023.
Vince Stango is the interim president and chief executive officer of the National Constitution Center. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience at the Center, where he has played a central role in shaping its growth, strategic direction, and national profile.
