America’s 250th Anniversary

The year 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence—a historic milestone for the nation. As the national headquarters for constitutional education, the Center will host major programs, events, and commemorations during this once-in-a-generation celebration. The Manager of Events will play a central role in executing high-impact engagements that welcome national audiences, civic leaders, and partner institutions.

About the Role:

The Manager of Events serves as the event lead for assigned programs and rental events, ensuring seamless planning and execution from initial coordination through post-event follow-up. This on-site role partners with the Sales team to position the National Constitution Center as a premier special events venue while ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of event delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and logistics for assigned events from coordination through post-event follow-up.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee on-site execution and coordinate cross-departmental teams, including operations, audiovisual, catering, and visitor experience.
  • Exercise independent judgment to proactively resolve logistical challenges.
  • Support external sales by stewarding assigned accounts and encouraging repeat bookings.
  • Prepare detailed work orders, event documentation, and coordinate with Finance on contracts and invoicing.
  • Maintain event data and documentation within Salesforce and departmental systems.
  • Lead weekly Event Operations meetings as assigned.
  • Manage internal space requests and ensure timely communication of needs.
  • Perform additional administrative or logistical duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, hospitality, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in event planning or the catering field.
  • 3–5 years of experience overseeing catering and/or special event staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce preferred.
  • Availability to work frequent weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Standing and walking on a frequent basis.
  • Occasional light lifting (20 pounds or less).
