2020 Civic Calendar
Each year, the National Constitution Center’s Civic Calendar commemorates a significant provision of the Constitution or a milestone event in constitutional history. As 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which said that the right to vote could not be denied on the basis of sex, the 2020 Civic Calendar celebrates women’s history. The images and quotations featured in the calendar highlight just some of the many extraordinary women who have impacted Constitutional history.
In the Classroom
Can't join us at the Center? You can celebrate your favorite Civic Holidays in your classroom with a Classroom Exchange, a new, FREE, online program from the National Constitution Center that gives your students the opportunity to connect with other students across the country in real-time, face-to-face videoconference for meaningful and eye-opening conversations on constitutional topics that matter to them but also align with your teaching goals!
The Center facilitates these online dialogues by providing instructional materials, pairing classrooms, connecting them with an expert moderator, and setting up the videoconferencing sessions.
