Celebrate spooky season with history, family fun, and a constitutional twist! This October, get into the Halloween spirit at the National Constitution Center with spooky stories from Philadelphia’s past, family-friendly activities, and seasonal fun in and around historic Philadelphia. Take a haunted history walk through the neighborhood, join Halloween festivities in the Historic District, enjoy a movie under the stars, or bring some constitutional creativity home.

Philadelphia’s founding generation may be long gone, but some say they never really left. Join the National Constitution Center for a spirited walking tour through Old City, where history and hauntings collide. From tales of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin to mysterious whispers, restless spirits, and stories of life and death in revolutionary Philadelphia, we’ll explore the people and places that shaped the nation and the legends they left behind.

All tours are currently sold out. Reservations may become available if spots open up, so please check back regularly for availability.

Movies on the Mall: Hocus Pocus

Pre-movie activities start at 5:30 p.m.; Movie starts at 7 p.m.
Bring a blanket, lawn chair, and your favorite snacks, and settle in for an evening under the stars for a special outdoor screening of Halloween favorite, Hocus Pocus. Join the Independence Historical Trust, Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation, and Independence National Historical Park for Movies on the Mall, a free outdoor movie series celebrating the themes and history of Independence National Historical Park.

Arrive early for family-friendly activities, including 18th-century games, arts and crafts, Park Ranger programs, and more. Admission is free and open to the public. Advance registration is encouraged, and walk-ups are welcome.

Spend a fall day exploring America’s most historic square mile! Families visiting the Historic District can stop by the National Constitution Center as part of the neighborhood’s Halloween festivities.

Stop by our lobby to check out our trick-or-treat station stocked with candy and non-candy goodies, put your knowledge to the test with our Halloween Trivia Wheel, and get creative with festive Halloween crafts. Halloween activities are free and open to all. To explore the National Constitution Center’s exhibits, including Signers’ Hall and the Freedom Rising live performance, a museum ticket is required.
