Philadelphia’s founding generation may be long gone, but some say they never really left. Join the National Constitution Center for a spirited walking tour through Old City, where history and hauntings collide. From tales of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin to mysterious whispers, restless spirits, and stories of life and death in revolutionary Philadelphia, we’ll explore the people and places that shaped the nation and the legends they left behind. Beginning at the National Constitution Center, this approximately 90-minute walking tour winds through the historic neighborhood surrounding Independence Hall, Carpenters’ Hall, Franklin Court, and Christ Church Burial Ground. Along the way, discover familiar founders, lesser-known Philadelphians, and the ghost stories that have kept their memories alive for generations. Come for the history, stay for the hauntings.
