Join the National Constitution Center for a joyful family celebration marking the opening of Be a Civic Hero!, the Center’s first dedicated experience created especially for young children and their families.
Created in partnership with Playful Learning Landscapes and Watchdog Project Management as one of 11 Play Places located at iconic destinations across Philadelphia, the new free outdoor experience invites families to discover their civic strengths through play, storytelling, and shared exploration.
Join us on September 16 from 2 - 4 p.m. to celebrate the opening with outdoor story time, civic hero crafts, cooperative lawn games, an interactive museum hour, and other playful activities for young children and their caregivers. Families can also be among the first to explore Be a Civic Hero!—creating their own civic heroes, connecting constitutional principles to everyday life, exploring the historic landmarks of Independence Mall, and browsing children’s books in a new little free library.
Be a Civic Hero!: A Family Celebration activities are free and open to all. A museum ticket is required to explore the National Constitution Center’s exhibits, including Signers’ Hall, and experience the Freedom Rising live performance.
