WAWA TO OFFER FREE ADMISSION TO THE NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER ON MARCH 26 IN CELEBRATION OF WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
Wawa Community Care mobile coffee vehicle to be on-site from 1 – 4 p.m. to serve free coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks to visitors
Philadelphia, PA (March 21, 2022) – In celebration of Women’s History Month, Wawa and the National Constitution Center are teaming up to offer visitors a free Wawa Community Day Honoring Women’s History Month, on Saturday, March 26. Admission to the National Constitution Center will be free courtesy of Wawa, with Wawa Innovation Network (WIN) associate volunteers serving hot beverages, pretzels, pastries, as supplies last, from Wawa’s Community Care Van. On Saturday, March 26, visitors to the National Constitution Center can experience special programs including Remember the Ladies Trivia; Women Leading the Way, an interactive presentation about generations of American women who led the fight for suffrage; a Kids Town Hall with figures from the women’s suffrage movement; the “Four Harriets” program, an exploration of the lives of four American women named Harriet who confronted slavery; and more. The Center will also host scholar talks exploring the impact of women at different points in American history featuring Villanova University’s Judith Giesberg and West Chester University’s tonya thames-taylor.
Wawa’s Community Care coffee vehicle and Wawa Innovation Network associate volunteers will serve free coffee, hot chocolate, pastries, and soft pretzels, as supplies last, to visitors from 1 – 4 p.m. at the National Constitution Center.
All month long, the National Constitution Center is recognizing extraordinary American women throughout the nation’s history, with discounted museum admission and free admission on Saturday, March 26, courtesy of Wawa, as well as special on-site programming, virtual events, and online educational classes featuring a great lineup of women scholars through the month of March. The National Constitution Center’s Women’s History Month celebration is presented as part of the Center’s series of freedom and equality themed programming and discounted admission between January and March 2022. Civic holiday celebrations and special programs at the Center include discounted admission and free admission days on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, and Wawa Community Days on February 26 for Black History Month programs and March 26 Women’s History Month programs; online classes taught by constitutional experts; virtual tours of the museum; and professional learning opportunities featuring distinguished guest speakers.
National Constitution Center general operating hours are currently Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Now through Thursday, March 31, visitors can enjoy discounted admission of $10 for adults (usually $14.50) and $7.50 for youth ages 6-18 (usually $11). This promotion is valid online only; tickets must be purchased in advance. The National Constitution Center is committed to the health and safety of visitors, staff, and volunteers and is following protocols in accordance with local, state, and federal health guidelines. Masks are required; proof of vaccination is not required. As a GBAC STAR™ accredited facility, the Center is proud to be recognized for cleaning and disinfecting to a higher standard.
