The National Constitution Center is hosting a free, in-person professional learning workshop in Austin, TX on November 6 & 7 2026, beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 6, and concluding at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. Using the Center’s nonpartisan resources and Educational Framework, participants will explore the meaning of “We the People” within the text and history of the U.S. Constitution. Through engagement with constitutional sources, museum artifacts, and exhibits, participants will develop connections between the nation’s founding principles and the diverse experiences that have shaped the people of Texas.

Meals: The session will include an opening night dinner at a restaurant close to the museum on Friday evening. Saturday will include breakfast and a boxed lunch for participants (dietary restrictions will be accommodated).

Stipend: Participating teachers will receive a $125 stipend.

During this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore the National Constitution Center’s classroom ready resources and protocols
  • Collaborate with Texas educators
  • Interact with museum exhibits at the Bullock Texas State History Museum
  • Engage with constitutional questions and civil dialogue practices to help students participate thoughtfully in the classroom.
