The National Constitution Center is hosting a free, in-person workshop at Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow Campus, on Saturday, November 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4p.m. Using the Center’s nonpartisan resources and Educational Framework, participants will explore the historical and constitutional foundations of freedom of conscience and its connections to the First Amendment. Participants will also learn about the Center’s constitutional education resources that will strengthen their teaching of religious liberty and the First Amendment.
All participants will receive a light breakfast and boxed lunches (dietary restrictions will be accommodated).
Participating teachers will receive a $100 stipend. Participants traveling more than 60 miles will be eligible for an additional $50 travel stipend.
During this workshop, participants will:
- Explore the National Constitution Center’s classroom ready resources and protocols
- Collaborate with area teachers
- Learn from a constitutional scholar
- Engage with constitutional questions and civil dialogue practices to help students participate thoughtfully in the classroom.
