During this session, participants will explore the historical and constitutional foundations of religious liberty in the United States. Join Randall Balmer of Dartmouth College as he examines the development of religious freedom from the founding era to today and explores how the First Amendment’s Establishment and Free Exercise clauses have shaped debates over the relationship between religion and government. A teacher facilitator will share classroom-ready resources and strategies for helping students investigate questions of religious liberty through primary sources and constitutional analysis.
