Join Teach Democracy and the National Constitution Center for a free professional learning workshop exploring how educators can teach the U.S. Constitution and American history while preparing students to become informed and engaged civic participants.
Educators will gain insight into key constitutional questions by engaging with the National Constitution Center's nonpartisan educational framework, which includes historic foundations through storytelling, constitutional thinking skills, and civil dialogue and reflection. Constitutional scholar Justin Levitt of Loyola Law School will provide expert insight into the constitutional ideas and issues at the center of the session. They will also explore case studies of civic action and learn how Teach Democracy’s Civic Action Project (CAP) can support informed action that deepens student understanding of community issues they care about.

Participants will receive:
- A $100 stipend from the National Constitution Center for attending the professional learning workshop.
- An additional $250 stipend from Teach Democracy for implementing CAP with two classes this school year.
- Free classroom-ready lessons and teaching strategies from the National Constitution Center and Teach Democracy.
- Opportunities for ongoing collaboration with educators through Teach Democracy’s monthly Community of Practice convenings and the National Constitution Center's educator newsletter.
