Toby Stock is the chief strategy officer of the National Constitution Center, working with the development team to build a growing community of the nation’s leading philanthropists who are deeply committed to the Center’s nonpartisan civic education mission.
Prior to joining the Center, Stock co-founded Dispatch Media, Inc., with Jonah Goldberg and Steve Hayes, leading the venture equity financing round and setting up the business operations serving The Dispatch’s editorial team. Stock served more than 10 years in various senior development and strategic roles at the American Enterprise Institute, launching AEI’s National Council and its popular Jackson Hole Retreat, its Enterprise Club young philanthropist group, and many of the Institute’s college student and faculty outreach programs. During his time at AEI, he launched a consulting firm through which he has served a number of nonprofit CEOs on development and strategic issues.
Prior to his tenure at AEI, Stock was admissions dean at Harvard Law School, working with then-dean Elena Kagan to achieve the law school’s highest admissions yield in decades. Stock came to HLS after cofounding an admissions consulting startup and working for two years at McKinsey & Company.
He is a 2001 graduate of Harvard Law School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Missouri. An Iowa native, Stock and his wife Margy live in Washington, D.C.
