Richard M. Horowitz is the president and chief operating officer of, and a principal in, R.A.F. Industries, Inc., a diversified holding company. R.A.F. owns and operates a group of 16 domestically-based operating businesses engaged in the manufacture, leasing, and sale of industrial and consumer products. He is also a principal in R.A.F. Ventures, which provides venture capital to early stage, entrepreneurially-controlled companies. Prior to his tenure at R.A.F., Mr. Horowitz practiced corporate law at the Philadelphia law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen.
Mr. Horowitz is a director of a number of private companies and serves as a director of several nonprofit organizations including the Wistar Institute, one of the nation’s leading biomedical research institutions; the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center, Philadelphia’s largest child-specific mental health organization; the National Constitution Center; and the University of Pennsylvania’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships. He is also a member of the Board of Overseers of The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts and Sciences.
