Join the National Constitution Center for its Sensory-Friendly Days, an accessible learning experience for people of all abilities and their families. Visitors with sensory-processing challenges can experience the museum in a secure and comfortable environment that includes modified programming and emotionally safe spaces with sensory objects, comfortable seating, and cool blue lighting.

The National Constitution Center is a proud partner of Art-Reach, a Philadelphia nonprofit organization that creates connections between the disability community and the cultural arts. Art-Reach has provided inclusion and accessibility trainings to museum staff, collaborated on programming, and consulted on environmental adjustments serve our community. The NCC is also a proud participant of Art-Reach’s ACCESS Admission Program, a community initiative developed to make arts and cultural spaces more accessible and affordable by providing $2 admission to over 80 cultural sites throughout Greater Philadelphia and Delaware for individuals receiving public assistance for food or medical benefits.

Reading Rocks! A Music, Dance and Comedy Show: An Autism Awareness and Acceptance Concert

January 12, 2025 and April 13, 2025, 11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m 

Join us for a program featuring wonderful classic and original children’s songs and tales accompanied by visual and sensory experiences. Kids will dance, sing, laugh, use their imaginations, and connect with new friends. The show is crafted to be inclusive for all children, including children on the autism spectrum, and a great time for parents and teachers.

This program is presented by Turtle Dance Music.

Movement Workshop With the Philadelphia Ballet

January 12, February 9, March 9, and April 13, 2025, 1 p.m.

Through structured and improvisational movement activities caregivers and children will explore what freedom means to them. This sensory-friendly movement workshop is open to all abilities.

This program is presented by the Philadelphia Ballet.

Sarah-Stevenson-PriceSarah Stevenson Price was born and raised in Southern California, where she earned an associate degree in dance at Moorpark College and a bachelor's degree in dance from UC Irvine. She was a professional dancer in New York City for 11 years. She takes pride in teaching encouraging, inclusive, and confidence-building classes and is passionate about sharing the gift of dance with her students in Philadelphia.

Rebecca Wolin trains in both commercial and concert dance styles. She is enrolled in Drexel University’s BS/MS program for dance movement therapy, with minors in somatics and psychology. As an aspiring dance/movement therapist, she works in Philadelphia schools with the Drexel Dance Ensemble and is an intern with Philadelphia Ballet’s Community Education and Public Programs Department.

Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga aka Hasya Yoga is an exercise practice involving voluntary laughter with yogic breathing (Pranayama yoga). Laughter Yoga is based on the belief that free laughter provides the same physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter, without the use of jokes or comedy.

Watercolor Workshop with Averil Smith Barone

August 17 and October 12, 2025

Join Averil Smith Barone for her Watercolor Workshop and learn the many different techniques of this wonderful medium including: wet-in-wet, gradation, splatter, wax and sea sponge. Watercolor is a wonderful way to express yourself and Averil’s workshops are welcoming and fun. Averil’s Watercolor Workshop expands the knowledge of the medium of watercolor with the practice of techniques, as well as brings smiles and fun to the group. Averil’s warm approach, clear instructions and visual aids help make a creative learning environment.
