Highlights:

  • Learn about the constitutional changes that emerged during the Reconstruction era through scholar talks, primary source exploration, and the Center’s educational resources.
  • Explore the Center’s exhibition spaces and visit cultural institutions and historic sites around Old City Philadelphia, contemplating meaningful ways to bring those experiences back to the classroom.
  • Collaborate with members of the Center’s Education team and teachers from around the country, as you reflect, inquire, and create throughout the week.

Cost: There is no fee to attend the institute, and the Center is able to provide a stipend of up to $1,300 for travel and lodging. There is also an opening meal, closing night meal, and two lunches provided during the course of the week. All other costs are the responsibility of the participant.
