Principles of the 250th: Past, Present, and Future (Michigan)

In partnership with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, the National Constitution Center is excited to offer two free, full-day professional learning sessions focused on preparing Michigan educators to teach and celebrate our nation’s semiquincentennial.

Participating teachers will receive breakfast and lunch during the session, as well as 5.5 SCECH credits for their participation.

Here is a sample agenda for a full-day session:

  • 9 a.m. Breakfast and networking with colleagues from around Michigan
  • 9:30 a.m. Learn about the National Constitution Center's educational framework
  • 10 a.m. Gain insight into the principles at the heart of the Declaration of Independence, such as liberty, separation of power, and the pursuit of happiness
  • Noon Lunch
  • 1 p.m. Classroom application time to collaborate, build connections, and reflect on classroom-ready resources
  • 4 p.m. Wrap-up and final questions
