Five attractions form the National Constitution Center’s main exhibit experience: the 17-minute live Freedom Rising performance, The Story of We the People, the iconic Signers’ Hall, Constituting Liberty, and American Treasures.

Civil War and Reconstruction: The Battle for Freedom and Equality

Opening May 9, 2019

This first-of-its-kind permanent exhibit gallery will delve into the constitutional events, key figures, issues, court cases, and debates central to the passage of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, collectively known as the Reconstruction Amendments.

Please arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to your group’s reserved Freedom Rising time, so that you can check in at the box office and be greeted by one of our staff members.

Themed Museum Packages

Note: The Young Citizens Scholarship Program does not cover themed museum packages.

Designed for students of all ages, themed museum packages provide unique ways to learn about the U.S. Constitution, its history, and its impact on the American identity. A museum educator will facilitate your group’s experience.

Packages last approximately 2 1/2 hours and include:

  • An interactive, high-energy show;
  • An educational workshop or guided experience; and
  • The National Constitution Center’s signature attractions.

Courts in the Community

Featuring federal judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, this program allows students to hear how the founding documents shape the role and responsibilities of a federal judge, and the impact of the Constitution on the judges' legal decisions.

Lunch Options

Note: The Young Citizens Scholarship Program does not cover the cost of lunch or lunchroom fee.

If you would like to eat lunch at the museum, your group may bring their own lunch, purchase pre-paid boxed lunches, or buy lunch in our onsite restaurant, Delegates’ Cafe. For guaranteed seating, you must reserve space in our Stars & Stripes School Lunchroom for a non-refundable flat fee of $15. Reservations are not required for the cafe, but seating is very limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
