Spring Break 2019
Celebrate spring break with the friends (and foes) of one of the National Constitution Center’s favorite founders: Alexander Hamilton. Visitors will learn more about Hamilton through the eyes of those who knew him best as the Center’s programming highlights a different founding figure each day. Visitors will get to know George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Gouverneur Morris, and more. Special programs include meet-and-greets with reenactors, exhibit tours, and artifact highlights. This spring break, visitors can also get a taste of what life was like in the 18th century with special period games, dress-up stations, craft activities, and more. Programming is presented in conjunction with the Center’s exhibit Hamilton: The Constitutional Clashes That Shaped a Nation, on display through December 2019.
Craft and Activity Tables
Daily, 10 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Grand Hall Overlook
Create tri-corn hats, themed portraits and other historical flare at our craft tables. Plus, as great photo-op for the whole family, visitors can dress in replicas of traditional-style attire from the Colonial era and pose will likeness of Hamilton and his friends and foes.
Eighteenth Century Lawn Games
Daily, 10 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Grand Hall Overlook
Try your hand at Hoop-and-Stick, Graces, Nine Pin, and other popular games played by children in Revolutionary America.
Hamilton: The Early Years
Daily at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., Main Lobby
This interactive lobby show introduces visitors to the story of Hamilton’s early life! Learn about his experience growing up in the Caribbean and his journey to the United States, his struggle to obtain an education, and his time as a Revolutionary soldier at the right hand of George Washington.

So, you’ve memorized the musical’s soundtrack and have read the latest books cover to cover, and now you think you’re an expert on Alexander Hamilton? Put your knowledge to the test at our ultimate Alexander Hamilton trivia game. Topics include everything from biographical information and fun facts on Hamilton’s friends and foes to 21st century-pop culture, which will test your knowledge of the hit Broadway musical! Beginner to expert levels available.

Each day visitors can join a museum educator as they lead special tours of our exhibits, highlighting some of Alexander Hamilton’s best friends, and greatest rivals.

Tour Signers’ Hall to learn about how Hamilton played a role as Treasurer under President George Washington.

Wednesday, April 17
Did you know that Gouveneur Morris and Alexander Hamilton were so close that Morris gave Hamilton’s eulogy after he passed? Come learn about the friendship between Alexander Hamilton and Gouveneur Morris on this special tour of Signers’ Hall!

Come learn about Alexander Hamilton’s friend and wife, Eliza Hamilton, and see the original letter from Eliza stating that Hamilton had been shot during the duel during a special tour of Hamilton: The Constitutional Clashes that Shaped a Nation.

Tour Signers Hall and learn about how Alexander Hamilton ruffled a few feathers at the 1787 Constitutional Convention.

Tuesday, April 23
Learn about one of Hamilton’s famous foes, Thomas Jefferson, during a special tour of Hamilton: The Constitutional Clashes that Shaped a Nation. After learning about his history with Hamilton, Take some time to meet, greet and mingle with Thomas Jefferson! Thomas Jefferson Meet and Greet: 10am to noon!
- Hamilton Exhibit Tours featuring James Madison
Wednesday April 24
Learn about one of Hamilton’s foes, James Madison, in Signers Hall. In this exhibit, you can check out a 1778 first edition of the Federalist Papers that Madison wrote in conjunction with Hamilton.
