2017 Liberty Medal Ceremony: John McCain

All of us at the National Constitution Center are sending good thoughts to Senator John McCain, the valiant and deserving recipient of the 2017 Liberty Medal. With our Chair, Vice President Joe Biden, we look forward to honoring his lifetime of service to the United States of America at the Liberty Medal ceremony on October 16.

The National Constitution Center will award its annual Liberty Medal to U.S. Senator John McCain for his lifetime of sacrifice and service. Vice President Joe Biden, Chairman of the National Constitution Center’s Board of Trustees, will present the award to his longtime friend during the 29th Annual Liberty Medal Ceremony on October 16 at 7 p.m. on Independence Mall in Philadelphia.

Ceremony-Only Tickets:

The general public may now submit online requests for tickets to the 2017 Liberty Medal Ceremony by clicking HERE.

The link for ticket requests will be open until 10:00 PM on Sunday, September 10.

Member ticket recipients will be selected by random drawing and informed via email on Wednesday, September 13.

A second random drawing for the general public will be held on Thursday, September 14, selected general public guests will also be notified via email. Any National Constitution Center Member not selected in the first drawing will be automatically entered into the second drawing.

Guests are limited to two tickets per household.

Please note: Guests who receive confirmation that they’ve been selected for tickets to the 2017 Liberty Medal Ceremony will have 48 hours from when they are notified to claim their tickets via a provided link.

The Liberty Medal Ceremony will also be broadcast on local ABC affiliate, WPVI-TV/6abc.

National Constitution Center Trustee, Ira Lubert of Lubert Adler, will sponsor the Liberty Medal Prize in 2017, as he has for the past ten years. Citizens Bank, which has sponsored the Liberty Medal since 2006, returns as the Chairman’s Reception Sponsor.
