Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens made a rare live appearance at the National Constitution Center this week to discuss six amendments he would like added to the Constitution.
Stevens appeared at an event in Philadelphia on Monday night, in one on two live scheduled events he’ll be making to promote his book, “Six Amendments: How and Why We Should Change the Constitution.”
Drawing from his three plus decades on the Court, Justice Stevens presented six specific ways in which the Constitution should be changed—including new amendments about on gun control, campaign finance, gerrymandering, and voting rights.
Brooke Gladstone of WNYC's "On the Media" moderated the interview, which was introduced by Jeffrey Rosen, President and CEO of the National Constitution Center.
Rosen will also be interviewing Justice Stevens in a broadcast for Book TV in about two weeks.
