Address America: People's slogans about long-term issues

September 4, 2012 by NCC Staff

As the GOP convention wrapped up in Tampa, we caught up with people who had some catchy six-word slogans that spoke to long-term issues in our society.

Address America: Your Six-Word Stump Speech asks people to create a “stump speech,” in exactly six words, that sums up their thoughts on key election issues.

We took our portable campaign stump to the streets of Tampa and got some slogans that truly address big issues that even transcend the current presidential campaign.

Here are some examples:

"Education should be a bigger issue. "

"Constitutional rights. Once forsaken, never returned."

"Respect the religious beliefs of others."

"One thing makes dreams impossible: fear."

"Really true freedom comes from within."

Check back here all week for highlights from our stop at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, and if you want to make your own speech online, just visit the Address America website:

Selected speeches appear on the Address America website. As you’ll see, we have some very creative slogans! Address America: Your Six-Word Stump Speech features the following partners: SMITH Magazine, Comcast Newsmakers and the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience.
