Adventure is right around the corner at the National Constitution Center’s American Adventure camp! Explore the history of our country in exciting new ways while spending your summer in the most historic city in the United States. Campers will spend their days actively discovering history in interactive, hands-on activities and fun-filled adventures in the historic district of Philadelphia. From acting to archaeology, you will explore the ideals of our past that shape the dreams of our future.

Camp Philosophy

American Adventure Camp seeks to encourage young minds to think about their world in new and creative ways, gain an understanding of community and teamwork, and have lots of fun while learning. Campers will explore history through exciting activities and make new friends as they travel through Philadelphia.

Recommended Ages

American Adventure Camp is designed for 6-14 year old children. Campers will be broken up into three age groups of 6-8 year olds, 9-11 year olds, and 12-14 year olds with a maximum of 25 campers in each age group. Each age group will have a minimum of a 1 to 7 ratio of counselors to campers.
* Super Hero Kids! is designed for campers ages 8-14 only.

Dates, Times, Rates

Camp hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an optional extended day program that has early arrival beginning at 8 a.m. and late departure until 5:30 p.m. (Additional fee applies) Take a look at 2009 American Adventure Camp Themes for a sneak preview of the fun-filled days campers will have throughout the summer.

Extended Day Programs
Early Arrival: $60 per two week session, $30 per one week session, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Late Dismissal: $80 per two week session, $40 per one week session. from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Adventure Camp Show 2006 044.jpgCampers who arrive before 9 a.m. or stay after 4 p.m. who have not signed up for the Extended Day Program will be charged a $20 daily penalty.

Lunch
Campers are welcome to bring a bagged lunch from home or purchase lunch through the Center’s catering service, Max and Me. The Center’s restaurant offers a lunch program for $70 per two-week session, and $35 per one week session. Weather permitting, campers will eat lunch outdoors. Campers will be provided a daily juice break in the morning and a light afternoon snack.
Please Note: Due to the increased cost of food, prices have been adjusted for the optional lunch from the Camp brochure.
