2nd Annual Gingerbread White House Contest
Monday, December 22, 2008 – Monday, December 29, 2008
Event Admission: FREE

Each year, White House pastry chefs display a decadent Gingerbread White House in the State Dining Room to celebrate the winter season.  This year, the Center is inviting local children to show off their talents and create their own version of this White House tradition for our contest to find the region’s best homemade Gingerbread White House.

Children interested in participating must register by Friday, December 19 by contacting Francesca Reynolds at 215.409.6647 or via e-mail at marketing@constitutioncenter.org .  

Registration includes the participant’s full name, age, address, phone number, and e-mail address.

Gingerbread White House Contest Rules:

  • Participants must create a gingerbread house which resembles the White House or a section of the White House, such as the Rose Garden or Oval Office.
  • Materials used to make the gingerbread house must be edible.
  • Participants can be no older than 14 years old.
  • Up to four participants may register together as a team and enter one Gingerbread White House into the contest. All participants must be 14 or under.  
  • All participants must be available to come to the National Constitution Center on Monday, December 29 at 10:00 a.m. to attend the contest winner ceremony.
  • Entries must be submitted on Monday, December 22 during regular museum hours.
     All entries will be on display in the Main Lobby at the National Constitution  Center from Monday, December 22 – Monday, December 29, 2008.  During this period,  visitors will submit their votes for the best Gingerbread White House.
  • The votes will be counted by National Constitution Center staff to determine the winner of the contest.
  • The winner will be announced during a special press event at the National Constitution Center on Monday, December 29 at 10:00 a.m. 

The winner will receive a bowling party for 20 people at  North Bowl to celebrate the victory!  Some restrictions apply.

Victory Party includes:
2 hour bowling party for up to 20 people
Free bowling, soda and tater tots for contest winner and guests

Party Scheduling:
Weekends - parties to end between 3-4pm.
During the week - parties need to end around 5-5:30pm.
The contest winner must contact North Bowl at least 2 weeks in advance to book the party. Subject to availability.
