Jane Daugherty

Jane Daugherty, a doctoral student at the University of Miami School of Communication, was a newspaper investigative reporter and editor for nearly 30 years. She is a four-time winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for coverage of the disadvantaged, most recently in 2003 for “Modern-Day Slavery,” an investigative series on migrant labor in Florida agriculture. Jane also was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 1994 for commentary. She was an associate professor of journalism at Florida International University from 2004-2010 and a Nieman Fellow at Harvard.
