Maud Beelman, a journalist for over 25 years, is the Deputy Managing Editor for Projects and Enterprise at The Dallas Morning News. Her team’s reports have won numerous state and national journalism awards, including, most recently the Online News Association award for investigative reporting and the Sigma Delta Chi award for public service in online journalism. Beelman was the founding director of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, based at the Center for Public Integrity in Washington, D.C. Previously, Beelman was an Associated Press reporter for 14 years, in the United States and abroad. Beelman’s work has been honored with a George Polk award, an Investigative Reporters and Editors award and a Sigma Delta Chi award. A native of New Orleans, Beelman has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a master’s in communications from the University of Florida.
