On August 29, 1968, 1st Platoon, C Co., 2nd Battalion, 199th Light Infantry Brigade, was ambushed south of Saigon. With covering fire the wounded were brought out using ponchos. The photographer , walking near the front of the line, had raised up to take a picture and was shot through the face. He kept looking through his bandages for his camera. I couldn’t help him.
