I painted this from a photo I took of a 105mm howitzer firing at the NVA at LZ Judy, west of Chu Lai, Vietnam. It was brutally hot; we rarely wore shirts unless it was the monsoon season. This gun was positioned next to our heavy 155mms, and it amused us to see how easy it was to fire them as compared to ours. The gunner was flinging the empty casings onto a pile right in front of me.
