Themed Museum Packages
The National Constitution Center offers fun, engaging, one-of-a-kind experiences for students of all ages. Provide your students with a unique way to learn about the U.S. Constitution and its history with hands-on activities and special programs. Don’t just visit; take part in an energizing field-trip experience this school year.
Our themed museum packages are aligned with national and state standards and make use of the Center’s unique resources. A Public Programs Demonstrator will accompany your group and facilitate their experience with our original artifacts, interactive exhibits, and multimedia events. Our staff aims to accomplish two goals as they lead your group: to increase your students’ understanding of America’s past and to enhance their ability to help shape its future. Packages are offered with support from the Samuel I. Newhouse Foundation.
Each package includes the award-winning presentation, “Freedom Rising”; an interactive, high-energy show; and an educational workshop concentrating on the Center’s main exhibition, The Story of We the People. Most packages take approximately 2 ½ - 3 hours and include free daily demonstrations. Your group will get all of this for the special package price of $14 per person.

DESTINATION WHITE HOUSE: PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
Grades 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
Can your students solemnly swear they will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and to the best of their ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States? At the Center, they won’t have to wait until they turn 35 to run for president; their time is now! During this action-packed day, students learn about the presidency, with a focus on presidential elections and the functions of the executive branch. An educational workshop, teaches students about past presidents, historic elections, and presidential powers throughout history. Finally, they elect a classmate to be the next president while learning what platforms are and watching some of the most famous campaign ads of all time. So buckle up… because the road to the White House has many twists and turns!

ALL RISE! The honorable judge . . .YOU presiding! Throughout this engaging day of activities about our judicial system, students act as the judge and jury. Our knowledgeable staff leads your students through an educational workshop to explore the courts and rule of law. Students then participate in a trial as our staff dramatizes a “landmark cases”. Whether they find the accused innocent or guilty, they will definitely find the whole experience fun!
PASS THE CITIZENSHIP TEST
Grades 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
Do your students know what it means to be an American citizen? Do they have what it takes? Here is their chance to prove it! On this fun-filled day, students will learn about the rights and responsibilities of being a citizen, and gain knowledge of our country and its freedoms. They will take part in an educational workshop and participate in an array of activities to help your class comprehend America’s freedoms and our ongoing struggles to secure them. The day concludes with the Be a Citizen Game Show, which puts their knowledge to the test to discover if they have what it takes to be informed and active citizens.
FREE TO BE YOU
Grades 4-8, 9-12
This fast-paced game show explores the First Amendment and the freedoms it protects. Students will learn about Americans who stood up for their First Amendment rights and changed our country in the process. For the show’s grand finale, your students will represent their team and perform a skit about one of the freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment. Students join in the hunt for freedom fighters of the past as one of our educators leads them through a First Amendment workshop. We guarantee they will have fun experiencing the freedom of gaining points for their team!
BEING AN ACTIVE CITIZEN
Grades K-3
“A person’s a person, no matter how small.” – Dr. Seuss
Let your students’ voices be heard in this interactive program about ways they can be active citizens at home, in school, in their community, and throughout their lives. While exploring the main exhibition with a National Constitution Center demonstrator, they’ll hear stories about children who stood up for their freedom and changed our country. This day is all about empowerment and inspiration.
BILL OF RIGHTS SHOW
Grades 3-5, 6-8
Who wants to be a “Bill-ionaire”? Learn about the Bill of Rights and its creation in this fast-paced, game show where your students answer questions about their basic rights and we poll the audience to see who knows if justice is being served. Don’t worry their will be clues from some of our greatest founding fathers like Madison, Hamilton and Jefferson. Students will then join in the debate about our basic freedoms and the amendments that protect our rights today in our educator led Bill of Rights workshop.
The Bill of Rights Show features the use of state-of-the-art technology generously donated by Meridia Audience Response.
SEPARATION OF POWERS
Grades 3-5, 6-8
This fun and energizing show teaches your students about the three branches of government and how our Constitution limits government by separating power -- a revolutionary idea! Students take part in an educational game of tug-of-war among the branches of government while they learn about checks and balances. Students will then explore this balance of powers further in the Separation of Powers workshop.
GROWING UP, AMERICAN STYLE
Grades 3-8
Find out what it was like to grow up in different eras of American history. Students participate in a costume runway show featuring traditional-style dress from historical periods while describing what home, school, and work life was like. Students will then explore the main exhibit with a guided tour to learn more about kids in America. How often did kids bathed, how they spent their days, what freedoms they had, and more.
FOURTH OF JULY SHOW

The Fourth of July has always been celebrated with a bang! From parades to protests, cannons to flag waving, explosive words to fiery demonstrations, the Fourth of July Show takes an in-depth look at this exciting celebration by exploring it over time from the very first words of independence to the present day. This show also explores how famous Americans have made their voices heard while fighting for freedom. Students will also investigate some important freedom fighters who have used this holiday as a platform for change in the Independence Day workshop.
BREAKING BARRIERS SHOW
Grades 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
The Breaking Barriers Show examines the lives of Thurgood Marshall, Bessie Coleman, Jackie Robinson, and other extraordinary African Americans throughout history. The show gives visitors insight into the issues they faced and the rights they secured for all Americans. Students are sent on a storytelling adventure as they learn about the experiences of African Americans in the 1700s, 1800s and 1900s. These inspiring stories teach students how one individual’s civic actions can affect a nation. Next students will join in a workshop that allows them to investigate the actions of the past.
WOMEN OF POWER SHOW
Grades 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
The Women of Power Show takes a look at extraordinary women throughout history. Students learn about the issues women faced while trying to secure equal rights. The show also explores the passage of the 19th Amendment and the changing roles of women in society. Students discover America through the stories of courageous women who defied expectations and persevered to establish greater equality for all citizens. Students will also join in an guided tour of the main exhibit to highlight the great achievements of American women.
IN THE ARMY NOW
Grades 4-8, 9-12
This interactive program explores the experience of the American soldier during three defining conflicts in our nation's history: the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and the Second World War. Step into the shoes of the men and women who have served this country as you discover their daily lives, the duties they have carried out and the sacrifices they have made.
