Tune in to the NEW Constitution Day episode of the Center’s free, web-based video series and live web-chat that’s a hit with students and teachers. You won’t want to miss this truly engaging and interactive lesson for your classroom, hosted by the Center’s education staff and scholars. To celebrate the 225th anniversary of our founding document, we’ll journey through the history of the American presidency. We’ll learn about why it was important for our young nation to have an executive branch, and why nevertheless some people were worried about giving it too much power. We’ll also take a trip to a very special location in America’s presidential history!

On September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by thirty-nine brave men who changed the course of history. Now Constitution Day is a time for us to continue their legacy and develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.
