Web Program: Constitution Hall Pass: History of Thanksgiving
Live chats daily from November 12 – November 21, 2012, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST
Grab a seat at the table as we talk turkey! Join us for the next installment of the National Constitution Center’s popular web video series, Constitution Hall Pass, as we take a look at the Thanksgiving holiday. Learn the real story of the first Thanksgiving and find out more about the American Indians who lived in what is now New England. We’ll learn about the foods of our early Thanksgiving dinners and discover how the day was made a national holiday during the Civil War. Plus, we’ll check out the origins of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions – we’ll even talk a little football! Participants also can join in special live chats with the Center’s Education Staff. So bring your appetite for knowledge and join us as we explore the history of Thanksgiving!
