Join the cast of EgoPo’s production of The Life (and Death) of Harry Houdini as they present a special reading of this season’s must-see production. The performance will be followed by a discussion of the play and the Prohibition era with EgoPo’s resident dramaturg, Glenn Odom, the National Constitution Center’s director of theatre programs, Nora Quinn, and director of Houdini, Brenna Geffers.

After a lifetime of death-defying escapes, Harry Houdini is ready to take his final curtain call. A mysterious magician’s assistant prepares the absinthe, the shackles, and a séance. Venture behind the curtain, where a Jewish magician struggles with his faith. Presented as a part of the 2013 Philadelphia International Performing Arts Festival.
