13- Star Flag Raising
Betsy Ross House, 9 a.m.
Betsy Ross herself raises a 13-star flag in the Betsy Ross House courtyard to kick off the day’s events.
50- Star Flag Raising and Grand Parade
National Constitution Center Front Lawn, 10 a.m.
Following a 50-star flag raising, troops—past and present—will join a patriotic parade to Independence Hall.
Stripes and Stars Festival Opening Ceremony
Independence Hall, 10:25 a.m.
Independence National Historical Park Superintendent Cynthia McLeod will read the original act that established the flag of the United States, followed by a reading of the Mayor’s Army Birthday Proclamation, remarks by military dignitaries, and a special enlistment ceremony. After the ceremony, watch as the U.S. Army’s Black Daggers parachute onto Independence Mall!
Philadelphia Flag Day Association Exhibition Ribbon Cutting and Awards Ceremony
National Constitution Center, 12:15 p.m.
Celebrate the opening of a unique display of historic American Flags.
Betsy Ross House, 1:30 p.m.
Welcome 13 new Americans in a moving naturalization ceremony.
“Raise it Up! Anthem for America” Performance and Flag Lowering Ceremony
National Constitution Center, 4 p.m.
Join the chorus for a rousing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner in honor of its 200th anniversary.

Giant Flag Folding and Family Concert
Independence Hall, 5:00 p.m.
Participate in a giant flag folding followed by a performance by the U.S. Army Brass Quintet.
Betsy Ross House 7th Annual Stars and Stripes Saturday
Betsy Ross House, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Admission is $5
Family-friendly activities in the courtyard include performances by the Give & Take Jugglers, Bag Lady Theater, the Mummers’ String Band Connection, and the Funicular Aerial Circus.
In the week leading up to the festival, the Betsy Ross House will celebrate National Flag Week with Flag Festival 2014. Highlights of the week include a scavenger hunt for kids, a flag retirement ceremony, meet-and-greets with Ben Franklin and George Washington, and a flag history program with Betsy Ross. Events begin on Sunday, June 8 and run through June 14.
Stripes and Stars Community Fair
Independence Mall, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visit booths staffed by community partners, include several veterans’ organizations. Military vehicles will be on display.
Macy’s Family Day at the National Constitution Center
