On My Honor: 100 Years of Girl Scouting

Many of today’s prominent political leaders, journalists, astronauts, athletes and entertainers—from Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice to Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift—were once Girl Scouts. In 2012, the Girl Scouts celebrate 100 years of developing girls’ courage, confidence, and character. 

On My Honor: 100 Years of Girl Scouting—an exhibition created by the National Constitution Center in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania—highlights the history, contributions, and traditions of Girl Scouts, including entrepreneurship and civic engagement.

Among the artifacts on display are badges and uniforms from the past century, nature study journals from the early 1900s, and an original copy of the first Girl Scout Handbook. Current Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, and Senior Girl Scouts who visit the exhibition can work towards requirements for the Girl Scout Way Legacy Badge.
