National Lemonade Days 2012 Kick-Off

Children eight and under will receive FREE admission to the Center with a donation to Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

2012 marks the 9th Annual National Lemonade Days – a meaningful fundraiser that allows people of all ages and all walks of life to make a difference in the battle against childhood cancer. 

LEGO® Friends and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation are collaborating to build the world’s largest lemonade stand made entirely of LEGO® bricks. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation will serve lemonade from the stand on Saturday. 

The Lemonade Stand will be completed in time to serve lemonade on Saturday. The event is free of charge, but donations are encouraged.

On June 9th and 10th, in conjunction with the Alex’s Lemonade Stand event, the National Constitution Center will host the following programs and activities to honor Alex Scott and her legacy, as well as provide a fun and educational experience for kids of all ages!

Kid Heroes Program
Domestic Tranquility
10:15, 12:15, 2:15    Families can participate in this special program highlighting kid heroes throughout history, proving that you are never too young to make a difference!

Growing Up, American Style
Grand Overlook
11:00, 1:00, 3:00   Step into the shoes of American kids throughout the centuries and discover what life was like growing up at different points in our nation’s history!

Colonial Games
Front Lawn
10:00-3:00     Play hoop and stick, graces, 9-pin and other games that were popular with American kids from different periods of history.

Arts and Craft Activities
10:00-5:00
Main Lobby
In honor of Alex, kids will have the opportunity to make lemon themed arts and crafts, including bracelets and key chains, which they can proudly display to raise awareness for childhood cancer research.

Ice Cream Making Demonstrations
11:30, 12:30, 1:30   Learn a fun way to make homemade lemon ice cream!

Summertime Karaoke
10:00-5:00
Main Lobby     Sing your favorite tunes at our karaoke station.

Visitors also can take a special guided journey through the Center’s main exhibition The Story of We the People and learn about child heroes, who, like Alex, have made a difference throughout our history. 

The Center’s activities are free with museum admission.
