The National Constitution Center will celebrate Constitution High School’s 2013 graduating class with a commencement ceremony on the Center’s front lawn. Tickets for the ceremony will be distributed through the school, along with a limited number of standing-room-only tickets available at the door. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held on the Center’s Grand Hall Overlook. Only ticket-holders whose ticket has a raised seal will be admitted to the indoor ceremony. Parents with questions about the ceremony can contact the Center at 215.40.6623, or contact Constitution High School directly.
Constitution High School is Philadelphia’s only public school focused on law, democracy and history. Opened in 2006, CHS was born of a groundbreaking partnership between the National Constitution Center, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, Ballard Spahr LLP, and the School District of Philadelphia, supported by the Annenberg Foundation. A block from Philadelphia’s Independence Mall, the school capitalizes upon the unparalleled historical resources of the city to deliver a program that emphasizes the study of social sciences through the American experience. CHS faculty, working in hand with National Constitution Center staff, aim to engage students in learning about democracy through a three-pronged approach: civic knowledge, democratic deliberation, and public action.
