REPORTS TO: Director of Development Operations

FLSA STATUS: Internship

BACKGROUND

The National Constitution Center is the Museum of We the People, America’s Town Hall, and a Headquarters for Civic Education located on Philadelphia’s Independence Mall. The museum features interactive exhibits, engaging theatrical performances, and original documents of freedom. The Center also houses the Annenberg Center for Education and Outreach, which serves as a hub for national constitutional education, debates, teacher resources and as a home for visiting scholars and experts.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Intern will have the opportunity to work with the Center’s Development team on several projects designed to provide broad exposure to the field of development and fundraising.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the organization and production of fundraising events (Spring Exhibit Grand Opening, Fall Fundraising Gala)
  • Assist with mailings to donors and members
  • Assist with donor and membership thank you letters
  • Scan grant agreements in order to comply with the Center’s Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Assist with mailings to donors and members
  • Maintain filing system for the department
  • Assist with general office duties

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time student, currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
  • Reliable, detail-oriented individual looking to learn about non-profit fundraising
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Must be available at least 25 hours per week
